Speaker Use Issue

Hi All,

I joined you all just now to ask the following questions. I don't know if you have rules about posting links, so I bought the following converter from Amazon (UCEC USB 2.0 Video Capture Card Device, VHS VCR TV to DVD Converter). Tonight I finally took the time to figure out how to use OBS with the converter.

Issues/Questions:
1. When recording from VHS to mp4, if I use the Audio Input Capture and select AV to USB 2.0, I can use my computer's speakers for other things and the sound will not be on the video file. HOWEVER there is some weird reverb/echo and the sound is more distant (not enough that I wouldn't consider this, but it'd sure be annoying on every VHS I mean to digitize).
2. If I use Audio Output Capture the sound is near perfect to the VHS's max sound quality. But I made the mistake of trying to watch a Youtube video and when I played back the file after realizing it might influence it, sure enough the YT video's audio was also on the track (I didn't lose much time as I was running various tests still).

Is there a way to use the Audio Output Capture and still use my PC speakers? The quality is tremendously better than the Input Capture and while there are times I could let it run without needing to use my PC, that won't always be the case.

Is the weird reverb/echo caused by the converter I bought or is that unavoidable using the input capture option?

If there is no work-around I'll make the best of it, but I'd love to hear your thoughts. Thank you!
