Moving the Lock Icon and the on/off button to the right side of the source list was not, in my opinion, a good idea.
It was more convenient and chances of clicking the wrong source is greater where it is now located on the right side of the source list because of the distance you have to move your cursor...

I would suggest moving it back to it's original position on the left side...

Yes, it is a bit unhandy, but it is possible to assign custom color to each source (if you not re-building scenes too often, of course) and thus emulate table painting (where each row has alternating color). I think, rather this alternate background painting in the Sources list will be implemented (it's quite possible and compatible with Themes), than control elements will move to its original position.

The second workaround is to make long names for sources or reduce width of the Sources pane (by increasing Mixer pane, for example).

Actually Sus, it would just be easier if they were put back the way they were in the previous versions..

Maybe you are right but it wouldn't happen. During all this long development all UI changes almost never reverted back.

Too bad, I don't know why they changed it in the first place ..

Almost every form that requires a checklist has the 'check' box on the left...
That's what most people are used to ..

Oh well..
