When recording with the Browser source, everything works great expect when you click on a <select> button the dropdown does not drop, does not work.

Any suggestions?
Thank you.

Do other types of fields and buttons work? So, are you able to interact with the web page in general?

The video does not make clear what you're doing to the <select> and what does not work. Please try to be as specific as possible. As no mouse cursor movement is seen, it appears that you have some issues using keyboard shortcuts at the dropdown.

Have a Browser Source point at https://www.w3schools.com/tags/tryit.asp?filename=tryhtml_select and click Interact. Tab to the dropdown.
  • Space - dropdown opening X
  • Up/Down - move through the list V
  • Esc - dropdown closing V
  • Up/Down - move through the list V
  • first letter (i.e. 'O' for Opel) - selects that choice V
  • Alt+ArrowDown - dropdown opening X
I added my test results for OBS 27.0.1: dropdown opening leads to a flickering Interact window with the opened dropdown at the top left corner. At the Program window the contents of the browser source become invisible (empty red borders). Closing the dropdown returns both to normal state. If one encounters the same issues and can replicate this, it can be considered to contact developers at Discord or raise an issue at Github. But maybe the above gives some kind of workaround. Note that the last bit is on my observation, yours obviously can be different.

I am having the same problems and results, only on my side the dropdown does not open at all, does not open to a new flickering screen. That only happens if I enable the checkbox 'Enable Browser Source Hardware Acceleration' in OBS-->Settings-->Advanced Tab. I will raise an issue at Github.

Thanks...

Hello. I'm a new user of OBS Studio. I have the same issue. The Dropdowns appear correctly on my browser (Chrome, Firefox and Edge) but don't appear on the recorded video, Whether i check or not "Enable Browser Source Hardware Acceleration" in OBS-->Settings-->Advanced Tab. Is there any solution ? Thanks

I am facing the same issue with the select box options not displaying when recording. Currently, I use the OBS Studio version 30.2.3.
This issue happens when choosing "Window Capture" for the capturing method. The select box options display well with the "Display Capture" method.

To better showcase this issue, I recorded how I captured the screen with both "Window Capture" and "Display Capture", along with the resulting video files. I attached the mp4 files, and the HTML file I used in the video: Google Drive Link.

For a temporary solution, I change to "Display Capture" when I have something to record that needs to show select box options. However, at the moment I cannot use "Window Capture" when I'm just trying to capture a window only and I have to show the select boxes.

I joined just to report this bug - did a whole recording session, only to find that the select options are not showing.

You can use 'Screen capture', but it is a major pain in the butt, since I then need to change my screen resolution down to 1080p. Solution for me was to switch to 'TapRecord' which doesn't have these issues.

Should add that this also affects the MAC version of OBS, so its not a Windows thing.
