Question / Help Sound on obs

i've had an older version of obs for a long time and everything worked fine until i discovered tts didn't work so i tried to get it to work ending up downloading the newest version of obs but now no sound works at all. I tried WavTap but it's not showing up. Then i tried Soundflower but doesn't really work well.... now i have ishowusound which seems to work fine but i still can't get my streamlabs alert to give sounds... Help please.

My Streamlabs alerts are .mp3... They started working after I did the downgrade->trash->drag reinstall the current version method in that post that was linked.

I almost seemed like the .ogg vs. mp3 issue was someone grasping at straws trying to figure out why the sounds stopped working in 20.x before realizing it was an Browser Source issue.

No, that was a real reason for some of the streamlabs alert problems-- mp3 support was omitted from the latest version.

However, I will also say that my own alert sounds already all were in .ogg format, and STILL did not work on the latest version, so I do not think the absence of mp3 support is the entire story of why streamlabs alerts don't work for some in that build.
