Question / Help Sound like Im talking in a tunnel in OBS

Hello,

So, lets get the things I know are not the problem and knowledge I can share out of the way. I do not sound like I'm in an arena in Discord, but when I record or stream on OBS, I sound like I am in a giant arena. I have went through the audio settings numerous times, disabling all but the aux input from Voicemeeter Banana. I have tried to tinker with just about every setting but I am not getting anywhere.

Any ideas would be very much appreciated. It doesn't sound bad, it just sounds unnatural.

Kevin - you checked no filters are added to your mic? Maybe need to add filters? I use a Focusrite device with a large diaphragm xlr mic and have no issues. What is your mic setup?

I do not have any filters added to the mic. Do I need an audio mixer for this to sound good? My setup is just Audio Technica Mic and using Voicemeeter Banana.

Can you share a link to a past stream?

I don't use Voicemeeter Banana or any other mixer between the mic and the application (save for Focusrite itself, which only has a gain knob and it is hardware, not an application). Maybe you have an effect turned on in Voicemeeter Banana by accident? A quick look up on my part, it's possible your digital mixer may have such a feature. OBS and Discord may be acquiring your mic at different places (aka, post effect, pre effect) which explains the different experiences.

That sounds like you are recording yourself twice (double check your meters on OBS while you're talking. Make sure you don't have a second source capturing your mic). if not, my only other thought is that an effect is being applied. Try not using Voicemeter Banana at all and see if it still exists.

I appreciate the help sir. I have been going round and round with this for a few weeks now. I will look around to see if I can figure out what is recording twice.
