I was using the windows mixer and in game volume but i realized obs is weirdly balancing my mic sound to the desktop sound level. So for example if one is very high it creates like a new top volume and the other becomes too low (hard to explain it compares the volumes. i use the mic boost for my mic instead of windows boost(yeah the setting on windows actually boosts the mic volume that is where that static comes from). I use blue yeti mic and windows adds too much static for my taste.)
Today I switched to maxing everything on(on of my friends said my mic volume was too high and lowering it caused music volume to go too high) windows mixer and lowering the music volume a bit from spotify to level it with game volume and then lowering all of the desktop sound from obs while leaving boost mic at at level 2 and adding built in noise filter.
I know it sounds a bit complicated setup for just sound but i like my viewers to have a good quality of it. Usually when i go to a stream sound is too low. Either the music or the mic or sometimes both of them. I have an external amplifier for sound but most people don't so they get stuck with windows control and that is not enough if streamer sends sound levels around 10% :D
My question is what do you use for your streams and how do you manage to have that sweet spot ?
