I apologize in advanced if what I say next makes no sense lol, i'll try my best.
First of all my set up in part (I feel it's important to explain this bit, I may be wrong though)
I have a PC with dual extended monitor, Screen one serves dual purposes, 1, Screen 1 of PC. 2, Switch over HDMI and its now for Xbox one.
Screen 2 is perm for PC.
Headset is plugged in to both PC & Xbox one. Xbox one via USB and PC via audio splitter cables into 3.5 jack in to on board sound card.
I am using a Hauppauge HDPVR 2 GE for game capture and have tried both OBS studio and I guess normal OBS?
The issue I am having is in OBS Studio I cannot get OBS to pick up Hauppauge capture, I chose Sources > Video cap device > create new > ok > Hauppauge > ok. But then I get a blank grey screen. I also tried other methods such as window cap but I cannot select a region.
In the normal OBS I can window cap Hauppauge capture no problem at all and even get sound, but thats where the problem lays, the sound. I get game sound coming through my headset then due to Hauppauge's time delay, a few seconds later I get a duplicate of the sound running through the Hauppauge capture software, then the sound comes through OBS :-\ I believe I can mute the OBS sound but im still left with the sound from Hauppauge capture. I was once able to mute the PC sound via Hauppauge capture so I wouldnt hear the game sound via the software and it would still push sound to the stream, but this is no longer the case and instead it now mutes the sound.
The only one solution I have found is using VAC (virtual audio cable) and point Hauppauge's sound to that and have OBS use that source to stream sound. But doing this means OBS only picks up on that one source, so I then have to forward skype to it (meaning I cannot hear the call as its being forwarded to channel 1 on VAC). Also a down side to this is everything else is pushed to channel 1 in VAC so I cannot hear this.. such as a new follower / donator etc.
I really need to fix this issue where I can have this running smooth, Can anyone help? Maybe change something in my set up? Download additional software? A plugin? Anything!
