Bug Report Sound issue

Hello,

I recently bought a Creative Soundblaster Recon3D PCIe soundcard.
And since then when people watch my stream, and rewatch it, my sound seems to be more to the right.
But if my hears don't fool me, it's actually mostly the bass that is mainly on the right.

Example:
http://www.twitch.tv/sanctumvenenum/b/389132423

At about 1:27:50

Anyone had this issue before? :)

Thanks in advance,
SV

Well first, you're using a pretty old version so you might want to update to the latest stable version. If that doesn't do much, you can also try the latest test build to see if anything changes.

My other guess is that since you are using a 5.1 speaker setup, the audio may not be getting mixed down to 2.0 stereo for the stream, which is causing the stream audio to sound weird. I'm not sure if the latest versions of OBS support downmixing or whether you will need to manually disable 3D sound or EAX in your Creative Audio Control Panel while streaming.

I know this is unrelated to what you are asking about, but that bit rate is way too high, especially for that resolution. Twitch considers it an abuse of their system to stream at such a high bit rate, and there's no way you need such a high bit rate for such a small resolution...even 3000 is plenty for 720p, and you are at 4500 for 540p :/

That's a very old obs version indeed, downmixing was fixed in a later version.
Please use latest stable version. (or the test build if you want)

Thanks guys :)
To update, do I just download the new version or is there an update option somewhere?
In case of the 1st one, will installing a new one erase my settings and such?

And I'll check out my bitrate and resolution settings. I have 100/100 fibernet so I just cranked it up a bit, but I kept my resolution low because people had a lot of lag when watching my stream. I even had to put a 60 seconds delay just to get rid of the lag on my stream :/

That is because of your bit rate, not the resolution. I stream at 1080p/30fps with 1800kbps video (no delay) just so that my viewers who don't have as good internet can still watch even though I have a solid 5mbps upstream. The quality is still near-perfect, and as mentioned above, twitch does not approve of anything above 4000kbps bit rate as it not only causes unneeded stress on their servers but makes it so that many people will not even be able to view your stream.
