Sound is still playing even after I closed OBS

So just today I had manage to connect a elgato capture card HD60X to OBS. At first after connecting it wasn’t playing any sound at all. So I decided to follow this tutorial: https://youtu.be/GKQ0lTw7Dzw

But after I clicked to listen to the mic and the capture card. Everything was fine until when I tried to close OBS. But then my mic and the capture card’s audio was still active like the OBS application never closed. Why? And how can I fix it so that when I close OBS. All those audio won’t be coming back.

Looking at the solution for this in the link, you are enabling windows to output the sound from your capture card independently of any other software that might be tapping into it. So the issue is not OBS but windows. You will need to undo the option to listen to your capture card through the same windows menu you enabled it.

Was the original issue that you were not getting the sound from your capture card on the obs recording/stream? Or that you wanted to be able to hear the sounds OBS was recording? If it is the latter, you can select the audio source for your capture card from OBS, and in the settings turn on monitoring. This will allow you to listen to the sounds specifically from that source, through OBS.

Well yes. When I opened obs and set up the things for showing the capture card footage. At first it doesn’t have any sound at all. I will try to do what you said.

When you record the footage, does the saved file have the capture card sound and video or is it just the video? Even if you dont hear it in OBS? You should also be able to see there is sound going through the sound bar as it moves up and down in the gradient.

Where can I select the audio source?

I tried doing what you said of recording but without the “allow sound” thingy (I forgot the name) yea the recorded footage just got no sound at all

Have u tried manually adding your capture cards sound as an individual sound source? Does it not show on the drop down of options?

It worked! But when tried to stream on discord. This is what happened on screen. But for others, the screen is normal for them (aka no flipped) so what can I do to fix this issue?

Glad you got your main issue resolved.

Are you using Virtual Camera to show on Discord? Check both your Virtual Camera and your Discord webcam settings. One of them should give you the option to flip/mirror/invert your feed.

Although I haven’t use this method to fix it. I instead use OBS to go full screen which then gives me a separate page. Then I stream the full screen page and everything is all good lol. Anyhow thanks for the help
