Is there a specific reason you haven't updated to OBS Studio yet? Can you try in OBS Studio and see if the issue persists there? Classic has not been maintained for well over a year now, and all development has shifted to Studio. Then your settings are probably not the same. There's no performance difference between the two with the same settings, and if anything, Studio would run better.
Can you provide a log from OBS Studio? I'm happy to take a look and see if there's something obvious that's set up incorrectly.
