Sound cuts out when singing in church

As long as the preacher is talking the sound is fine, the microphone does great, no problems at all. As soon as we start singing, the levels on the audio drop all the way down and the mic no longer picks up any sound until the preacher starts talking. It's almost if the microphone or OBS doesn't recognize signing as speech? Any idea on why this happens and how to stop it? It makes our streams look like we lost sound, which we did, when we are singing.

Can you share you audio settings?
Also can share the audio chain that from the microphone to the OBS. The problem might be there?
Mic-> pre-amps-->Mixer...->..->... OBS ?

If you're switching to a different scene when the singing starts, make sure you have the audio source in that new scene as well.

I was thinking the same in terms of what are the mixer's settings (and everything else in Audio path before OBS PC). My personal recommendation for audio and video troubleshooting is to test at the Operating System level first (OBS Studio NOT running due to proclivity for locking sources)

And then there are possible conflicts with Audio drivers and settings on PC at Operating System Level...
then, and ONLY after confirming all is well with the signal into the OS, to check OBS Studio settings/config
