Hello!

I am looking into possibly streaming and have just bought a new camera. I do expect to use this camera for other things, but also wish to use it for streaming. My issue right now is that OBS does not recognize the camera. Now it might be because of my setup as I am using a Mac on a Bootcamp setting where it runs Windows OS instead of Mac OS. The 2 pictures below show the setup of my area and the connection into my computer which is a thunderbolt connection and not a typical USB or HDMI. If anyone has any suggestions on how to make this work or if I have to download something please post away anything is welcome and greatly appreciated.

EDIT: The camera is a Sony HDR CX330 HandyCam

EDIT: I have checked google multiple times, but my problem is very specific and have yet to find someone with the same issue.

I'm guessing you're connecting it via FireWire? I'm not sure if OBS can capture DV sources, if it can it will only be able to capture standard DV, not HDV. I can't try it out myself because I don't have my FireWire card installed -and- my DV camera broke down. I use an AVCHD camera connected via HDMI to a capture card nowadays.

I think some people had success opening their HDV camcorder in something like VLC and then using software window capture to capture the contents of the VLC window.

I am using a Thunderbolt connection and not firewire. Though Firewire did cross my mind to use.

From researching the only thing I can find is that I have to get a BlackMagic Box Playback device. Which I do not have the money for at the moment. If anyone can find an alternative to this or something much cheaper (which probably won't happen). Please post otherwise it is looking like this does not have a optimal solution.
