Now this isn't an issue with OBS because I've determined it's my PC, but because I want to use OBS instead of not streaming I want to try and see if I can post here and get some help because everywhere else I have posted no one response. I'm just going to copy-paste my post:
I recently had a problem that I had fixed were my connection when streaming would drop, not disconnect, just drop to a lot bitrate and then would stay that way for a few seconds and come back to normal. Well the problem seemed to be fixed after I closed a certain application, making me think that was the source of the issue, but the issue has come back and closing said apllication doesn't fix it this time. I recently also upgraded my PC from an i5 6500 to an i7 8700k. THe problem that seemed to be causing the issue that doesn't seem to be anymore is called Wallpaper engine.
I use OBS to stream and if IO stream to youtube or twitch I get the same problem. NMow here's the weird thing that I might try for my PC to determine if it's truely my PC is I used my laptop to do a test stream and got no issues with wallpaper engine running, on wifi. I tested further by plugging my PC directly into my modem, by moving my PC downstairs next to it and testing it. I use a powerline adapter for my connection in my room, currently better than wifi used to be, although wifi could be better now that we upgraded our router. So I got the same problem wired directly into the modem as I did using my powerline adapter giving me the impression it's my PC.
When I upgraded my CPU I had to get a new mobo as 8th gen can be used on older 1151 socket mobos so I had to reinstall windows. I had fixed the issue beforehand, with my old CPU getting no issues for a while before and after I upgraded until yesterday when I started streaming rainbow six siege and it seemed to start giving me the connection drop issue I was having before. The reason I could tell it was a hardware/pc issue was wifi worked fine for my laptop making me think I should get a wifi pci adapter and test it out to see if it's a wired connection issue somehow with my PC, but I upgraded my mobo so new ethernet port.
Can someone give me some ideas on what to look for that might give me a way to find the issue and resolve it once in for all. I have no idea where to start since it seems to be an issue that I don't know the source of anymore. Thanks in advance.
