Question / Help Some viewers complaining of "lag"

A lot of my viewers complain of "lag" but the other half claim they have no lag. What does this usually mean when some viewers have trouble watching your stream? Resolution too high? Fps too high? Bitrate too high?

And, to be honest, those numbers are just fine. And given your max bitrate, 3000 Kbps; which actually is well within the unofficial maximum of 3500 kbps, I would have to say the viewers that are lagging are having a local issue.

Either poor routing to Twitch, a poor Internet connection or a really poor PC. I don't see how much you could really do without sacrificing quality. Without an absolute guarantee those lagging viewers would actually stop lagging.

The log shows no issues from my side, correct?

I host from USWEST server and most of the people lagging are from europe, is this possibly the reason? Would choosing a server closer to their location like USEAST help at all?

As I said, the numbers are just fine. In 57k frames you had 1 frame that lagged. That is an amazing performance. You also had 0 frames that dropped. Lagging frames are the PC performance falling behind, dropped frames are the connection falling behind. You had neither. So, your configuration, your hardware and your connection are all more than capable of delivering the performance.

As far as your 2nd question goes -- Sadly enough Twitch's service in Europe has been sub-par as of late and there is really not much you can do to help your European viewers. If you can maintain your current performance while streaming to USEAST, that might help but it's not guaranteed either. It's worth a shot though.

Alright thanks for the help. I'll try using a USE server and hope it helps the EU viewers. If that fails, atleast I know it's not on my end
