Hi all,
I am getting good results on my HP Elitebook Laptop at 30fps 1280x720 using Chromacam dynamic-greenscreen and OBS to feed a virtual camera into Zoom and Teams. I basically work in front of the camera all day every day, from presenting to general discussion meetings so what I can do with OBS is a huge professional deal to me!
I have achieved this without a greenscreen (which my office won't really accommodate) with reasonable background contrast and lighting that provides a good clarity and color temperature in my streams.
My USB webcam however is a "noname" - it literally just says "2K Pixels / Auto Focus" and "Camera" on it and has pulled the generic Microsoft driver.
The form factor is very similar to the Logitech 92x series but I have no idea if I am optimising its performance as there is no software for it.
...So far so good in that it "just works" right?
Thing is that I'm not happy with the auto focus and the amount of load this setup puts on my laptop when presenting (especially with a lot of stuff open naturally).
The autofocus seems to bounce around a lot and sometimes stays really soft when I move back a bit or introduce my hands momentarily.
So without some way to control it I'm thinking of upgrading to a webcam with better lens/glass and tuning software.
Therefore, the Logitech 922 Pro Stream keeps coming in at the top of review lists I'm googling.
And it does look good no question.
There is however the C930e, which is not really that much more (when I consider that this is how I professionally present myself at work I'm not going to quibble over the price difference!) and boasts "onboard processing" along with a wider field of view *(not that big a deal to me) and maybe some other things that could be good.
My laptop, when running Chromacam, OBS and Zoom *(or Teams which is even heavier on memory and cpu than zoom) is being pushed so I wondered if I should consider the onboard processing feature of the C930e - or won't it make that much difference?
I've done a bunch of tuning and config as recommended on here but I'm sure I can do better without upgrading my laptop!
Still pretty new to all this but getting very good results with what I have, so I thought I'd venture to start a discussion based on my experience and see what you guys suggest.
Thanks in advance all, stay safe!

The C930e claims to be Logitech's most advanced HD webcam yet, so it isn’t surprising that it's also one of Logitech’s most expensive offerings. However, unlike traditional webcams, which rely on the PC for all the heavy lifting, this unit does the video encoding itself, which should in turn result in better video quality. The wide, 90-degree field of view means it’s well-suited to business video conferencing and presentations. And of course, it’s Skype-certified for PC and Mac.
