good evening everyone, i was wondering if someone could give me some advice on what the best settings for recording on obs would be, the reason i'am asking is because no matter what i try change i always get the encoder overload message.
my specs are as follows:

i7-8700K
GTX 1070TI
16gb ram

thank you for your time

without telling what encoder you are use its hard to say ^^ logs are really helpfull
but default an overload is a overload so reduce the load
means look that your CPU and GPU far away from 100%
but without a log we can't help

someone told me it is because my files are getting saved on another hardrive from where obs is installed, but i don't know how true this is, but here is a log file from today, i just turned on my recording to see if auto config would help but it didn't so stopped the recording again as it becomes a huge stutter:

someone told me it is because my files are getting saved on another hardrive from where obs is installed
If you save your files on an external harddrive, for example connected via usb, it might be the source of lags. But as long as the destination is any internal drive, it's ok.

the Only Issue i can currently see like koala is the Recording Location G looks not default device range until you have windows +4 Partitions/devices

I hope you checked before that CPU and GPU is far away from 100%

Other Points to check
Game DVR: On <-- Disable
OBS-Preview <-- Disable
OBS-Administratior <-- Active
but the external harddrive can be the major issue

thank you for all these suggestions, i will try these after work and try again tonight... it seems to be one game in particular it happens with and its the game i want to record for some weird reason.
i have tested changing hard drive and still got the message so figured that wasn't the problem so i changed it back to external hard drive.
also i have monitored my cpu, gpu and ram, my cpu usually will be the highest out of these 3 hitting around 70% usage at highest(running rust, discord, steam and chrome).
but i will try all the suggestions together tonight and post an update and log files.
thank you for your time in trying to help me solve the situation.
