Hello. I am new to OBS and I have some questions. I want to record videos for YouTube (also new to YouTube). I have noticed that the output result of my videos are 852x480 even though my webcam source Resolution is set to custom 1280x720. I know 852x480 is 16:9 like 1280x720. My first question is, would it be beneficial (quality wise) to change Output (Scaled) Resolution in Settings to 1280x720? Also, should I keep my Base (Canvas) Resolution to screen resolution. My screen resolution is 1366x768? I have not decided on using the desktop as source yet or not. Thanks for your time.

OBS works like this: OBS has a master frame buffer it draws every source onto. The resolution of this master frame buffer is the canvas resolution in Settings->Video. After source composition, OBS rescales the canvas to the output resolution and outputs the rescaled image to the stream or the recording.
You're totally free to enter any resolution into these two fields. The defaults are common sizes OBS tries to guess what you might want to use, depending on your monitor resolution and scaling, but you can actually enter anything you want. The output resolution is constrained by the computing power of your encoder (if you use x264, your CPU has to be powerful enough to support that).
And if your Windows display scaling is not 100%, OBS might default to some odd numbers such as yours.
