Hey there,

i was wondering if there is a way to optmize my obs Settings. I have a few Things that not running smooth. Have tried that with a 2 PC Setup and only with the Gaming Rig without capcard and a second Pc. Seems there is no big difference.

My Specs are the following:

Gaming Rig
i7 4770
8GB Ram
R9 280x
Win 8.1

Streaming Rig
FX 8320
8GB Ram
An Geforce GT xxx, dont know. Not important for this rig.
Avermedia Extreme Cap U3.

Downstream: 100Mbit
Upstream: 10Mbit
But my Internet comes via D-Lan from my Livingroom. Could that be the Reason?

QuickSync Log (Only Gaming Rig)

I Know, there are some Problems with clr. But that could not be the reason for the bad quality.

My Webcam is pixelated every time there is some more Movement. Its a Logitech C525 720p Cam. Resolution is 1280x720@30FPS. If there is no one moving in the game, the cam looks okay. Cam is added as an Global Source. Happen on booth Setups

My Desktopicons and Text are "nonreadable". All is blurry. Happen on booth Setups. Here is an Example, recorded with one pc Setup:

Playing Battlefield, the way i see it, looks like Crap on the Stream. I dont know how other Streamers become this nice and smooth Quality. I was testing alot of Stuff the last few Hours, but everything looks like Crap. Sometimes more, sometimes less. Happens on booth Setups. Here is an Example, recorded with 2 pc Setup:

Looks like Crap, huh? Or am i alone in thinking this?

A Streamer i follow recorded this with an one PC Setup.

Looks nice.

Hope there are some Tuning Tips for my Settings.
Sorry for my English.

It looks like crap because you are usings superfasdt preset. try veryfast. If your CPU can handle it use faster or fast preset. this being said, dont have a bunch of crap up on your stream PC (no browsers etc) It is a stream PC, just leave it's role at that.

Thx for the reply. The logs are from my gaming rig only. On my Streaming rig, i use the same settings. Only the preset is set to faster. But the quality is not better. The second vid link is a record with the streaming PC.

There are only the hitbox dashboard and 2 alert programms open while i stream.

Is there anything going wrong in the logs? Cant read all the things right i think. What i see is, that my clr Browser had some issues.

Any ideas how i can fix the pixelated cam? Maybe lightning Problems in my room?

Is everything okay in the logfile?

I cannot help unless you post a log from your streaming rig. Also your profile on your gaming rig needs to be set to main. superfast is never recommended for streaming as it will cause pixellation. Faster should not

The Profile is set to high, because hitbox says it has to be on High.

I will Post a Log from my Streaming rig later. But the strange thing is, my Streaming rig has the same settings. Only the preset, this is set to faster.

Thanks for the reply.

I did not realize that about hitbox. that is probably since they allow 1080@60, but high can give limited avalability to mobile devices so just in case you encounter that.

Ok i will try Main and Post a Log of that Config. Some tutorials says, setting this to Main can cause a blackscreen or a Stream that loads about 2 minutes for viewers.

Hey,

have done a quick 6 Minute Stream on Hitbox.

Logs: https://gist.github.com/24870a52ebf3a3288127
Vid: http://www.hitbox.tv/video/555386

Is there any Option to optimize the Stream? As u see, the Cam gets pixelated as soon as there is more Action.
Preset Fast: Cpu Usage is at about 50-60% Will try medium. Maybe this could help?

Another Problem i just registered.. My CLR Browser is installed correctly but doesnt shown up in OBS 32Bit. In 64 Bit it work just fine. Have reinstalled the CLR to the 32Bit Directory, but that dont help. I see the Plugin at the Plugins window, but can not add it in a scene. Have done a Stream last Week with no CLR Problem.

well these aren't identical settings to your gaming rig, each preset is worth roughly 200bitrate (some more than others).so a 720@30 veryfast with 3000 will look like 720@30 fast 2600 bitrate. Increase your bitrate a little if you likefrom 2500 to 3000, dropping to medium will help.

Also setting your capture card to 720@30 then not setting any downscale and setting your base resolution to 720@30 as well. That last part is optional but either way, I would set your cap card's fps to 30 because those are just waisted frames that your CPU will have to eat up the USB bandwidth on.

With clr, you will need the 32bit version of MS C++ if you are trying out the 32bit version of OBS.

No, not anymore. Have change some settings before.

Well, if i downscale the cap card source, i have a blackscreen. Maybe i have to change it in recentral first. Will try that.

I dont have any Problems with the clr on my last Stream last week. So this is the strange thing about that. The 32bit Version of obs runs even better on my Streaming rig instead of 64bit.

On 64bit, all the sources takes some time to bring up. Cams and capcard.

In 32bit, all is bring up quickly.

Will Check your tips and drop another Log. Thank u!

Ive testet it. But the Capcard had an issue if i set it to 720p@30. The Card only works on 1080p@60

Have set Recentral to the same, but it dont matter. in Recentrel, the preview is just fine.

Any ideas?

Thats the Log: https://gist.github.com/ba9280109c46e7adca8f (no stream, only a preview)

Where did u find the 60Fps? Oo

Okay, ive setting up all back. Thanks for help anyway. Will try a new Stream with 3000bitrate and a higher preset.

Code:
frameIntervals: 166666-666666

thats the ms delay between frames. calculated out, thats 60 frames every second. 333333 is 30 frames per sec. 16683 is 59.94fps, etc. take 1000 / (fps) = frame interval in ms.

EDIT: Also, you might want to make your cap card and web cam global sources:
Code:
PERFORMANCE WARNING: Scene change took 761 ms,
maybe some sources should be global sources?

Thx!

Booth are global sources. I think the clr's are the warnings.

Is it okay to make every sources as global? Text, bitmaps e.t.c. Or will that cause in Problems ?
