Question / Help Some kind of virtual audio mixer?

I would like to start my stream 10 minutes before I actually go live and leave up a screen with some music and a countdown. In this time I can obviously mute my microphone but I cant communicate with my friend (who will be in the stream as well) over Skype/Team Speak without him being heard on stream.

Obviously any system sound or audio in general will come through.

Is there some way to digitally manage audio sources for the stream?

I use a software mixer called VoiceMeeter Banana. Very handy donationware tool that can do what you are after.
Takes a bit of reading up on tho to get it properly configured, and experience on how a real mixer works is meriting so to speak, but once you've gotten a hang of it it's wonderful as hell.

There's a lot of extra nifty features to be used down the line, like ASIO support, virtual parth inserts and outputs so you can send signals through VST-plugin chains and shit (for instance, compressors, expanders, noise gates etc) and support for MIDI-controllers so you can use hardware faders like for instance a Korg nanoKontrol2.
All in all: well worth a try if you're a bit tech savvy :)

What Banse says... Voicemeeter is the best solution out there.

See the videos at the bottom of each of those two pages. Several are actually by me!
