After paying for a capture card for my 2nd pc (to run a 2 pc setup) as well as paying for a year of xsplit, I came across OBS in October of 2012. I was at first very hesitant and had the mentality that if I paid for xsplit I should use it and make my moneys worth.
Shortly after that though, my friend wanted help setting up OBS so I installed it so that I could figure it out and walk him through it, I did 30minutes of streaming on it and was hooked. This program is absolutely amazing..The program runs flawlessly (minus one problem with my webcam freezing up randomly, forcing me to have to remove it and re-add it to the scene). And it has almost no effect on my FPS. I play CS:GO competitively and when I am streaming high level games I cant really afford to have any FPS drops or lag, and OBS has been nothing but amazing for that. I am fully confident in using it for a 1 PC Setup and definitely for a 2 PC setup. I just wanted to thank everyone who has been working on OBS and I felt like you guys may not get the recognition you deserve. For an open source free program, this is an absolute godsend to streamers (especially those with lower end PC's and/or competitive gamers who cannot afford the extra pc strain).
+1 thanks for everything you guys do!
I hope that each version gets more and more strong and dominant in the streaming world :D
