Bug Report *SOLVED - SORT OF* OBS Studio crashes when clicking Start Recording (0.15.2) Windows 10

2 days ago, OBS Studio worked fine. Yesterday, (without changing any settings) I tried to record my screen and upon hitting Start Recording, the program crashed and said

" Woops, OBS has crashed! "

So I decided it was probably time to update to the latest version. I did so, and the same thing happened again. Now it will not let me record or view previous recordings! When I try to view them, they crash as well, but no error message. They just simply cant be viewed - and they're hjust standard mp4's and mov's.

Again, I am running Windows 10.

It was working fine until yesterday... Please help ASAP!

Change your encoder to x264 from vce.

and then? Record or switch back to vce?

record. Something on your system is preventing vce from working right (you may need to reinstall the video card drivers from amd's site)

okay, I will try changing encoder and maybe Drivers if that doesn't work. I'll let you know how that goes...

Oh! Don't know why it wasn't set to x264, but that did the trick!

I will say, however, that it still won't let me view previous recordings. Crashes as soon as it opens.

Any tips??

Use VLC to play back videos.

So, I'm having the problem where OBS is crashing every time I record, only I'm trying to record Modded Beat Saber on Quest with a mod called MRCPlus. I have everything set up, but halfway through the song, OBS freezes my game, and it won't unfreeze until I close OBS. Idk what to do, as I've disabled all of the other mods, and I uninstalled/reinstalled MRCPlus. Can anyone help?
