This method bypasses OBS ASIO capture entirely by feeding a DAW Aux Send into a dedicated USB audio device, allowing OBS to record live screen and live DAW audio without ASIO plugins, virtual cables or ReaRoute.
Requirements:
1x local unused/free Audio device.
1x USB Audio Device that supports Stereo playback, Mono microphone and 24bit/48000 playback.
1x Mono 3.3 jack to 1x Mono 1/4" jack cable (length 1x metre minimum).
Setup:
Configue a Stereo Master Out on your DAW mixer and assign 1x full stereo or 2x mono channels (say 7/8).
Plug your Mono 3.5 jack into your USB Audio Devices Line/Microphone In connector.
Plug your Mono 1/4" jack into your DAW mixer Aux1 send.
Set the Aux1 and master send output levels for 7/8 to mid point.
OBS:
Add 1x Audio Input Capture and assign your USB device.
Add 1x Audio Output Capture and assign your local unused/free Audio device.
You shoud now have level indication on your OBS Audio Input Capture source.
