Question / Help [Solved] OBS throwing "Taking too long to encode" errors and making my games lag.

Im having issues with my livestreaming, and its getting pretty annoying for both me and the viewers watching.

Not sure when it first started but i keep having these random lagspikes, OBS showing taking too long to encode and the game framerate drops for a bit until it goes back up again.

I tried with the latest version of Minecraft (1.7.9) using Oracle Java 8 as well as LEGO Marver Super Heroes and State of Decay and its the same issue even when i changed from Twitch to Hitbox. :(
Had to downgrade OBS from latest to v0.621b too, not sure why but game capture refused to work on the latest version.

Including the logs from my streaming session as well as local recording, but only the local recording one worked perfectly.

Links to livestream video copies if it helps:

Well, the easiest solution would be to haul back on your preset. Setting it back to veryfast.
I would also recommend to try upgrading again and if necessary just recreate the game-capture sources. Keep an eye on your CPU usage while streaming, see if anything eats up the CPU.

Thanks for the snappy response. Il give OBS v0.622b a second shot while running default preset, so hopefully it delivers. :)

Edit: Deleted all my profiles and remade them and now it just works. :D
