[SOLVED] Multi-track audio recording: it doesn't work as it should

OBS 26.1.1
O.S.: Windows 7 sp1

I have 3 audio-tracks to record into a .MKV video.
The first 2 tracks, are Left-Right channels from my DAW, connected through ReaRoute plugin (via ASIO Plugin of OBS)
The 3rd track, is coming from my audio interface, and it has the MIC signal

Each Audio in Audio Mixer: Options > Advanced Audio Properties, is set up in this way:
  1. Checkbox 1 & 2 checked on ASIO channel for Left & Right
  2. Checkbox 3 checked for the MIC channel
[in the video si visible]

All the channels are working fine. The signal is arriving and if monitored: the signal is present without issues, as you can clearly see from the video down below.

In the settings, Output Recording, are enabled the audio tracks 1, 2, 3 and the system is setup for 2.1 recording where the .1 is the MIC. (I did try with 4.0 as well, but it doesn't change anything).

ISSUE:
The .MKV video has 3 audio tracks. very visible in Reaper (that I use here to show you clearly what's occurring).

BUT as you can see, while the Audio from the DAW is recorded on tracks 1 & 2, the MIC is NOT recorded AT ALL.
IF EVER I enable the MIC on tracks 1&2 as well, via Options > Advanced Audio Properties on the audio mixer: THEN the MIC is recorded. But on tracks 1&2 the 3rd is always empty! Even if I checked it).
Where do I wrong?

I trued several solutions without being successful.

I need to have the audio form the DAW separated from the audio form the MIC.

EDIT
I did try to put the ASIO Channel only on track 1, and the MIC on track 2.
ASIO is recorded as it should: stereo.
MIC is not recorded at all.

I did try also with all 6 tracks, but unsuccessfully

I did try with MP4 instead of MKV: nothing changed

I did follow also these suggestions: https://obsproject.com/wiki/Surround-Sound-Streaming-And-Recording#setup but I still have the issuse
END EDIT

Thus
VIDEO WITH SETUP: You can CLEARLY see that the signal from the MIC is fully present. It works, as well as the MUSIC from the DAW. Hence the routing is ok. 3rd track: empty.

VIDEO WITH RESULT: You can see the track 3 is empty. There is not any signal. While on tracks 1&2 there is, and it's ok

FOUND ISSUE:

I setup as 2.1

OBS is still recording 9 audiotracks out of 6.
Each 2 tracks it leaves a blank track.

When I import the video on reaper, I see a 2.1 (3 tracks) : the first 2 ones have the audio, the 3rd no. But the 4th yes.
However being 2.1, Reaper doesn't get the other 6 tracks.

Not clue where the issue lies.

Here the LOG https://obsproject.com/logs/BzxMN1tPQZ63RQFx

UPDATE
The 9 tracks:
Well it records 3 tracks for each checked box on Advanced Audio Properties being 2.1 each channel.
So I reduced to 2 checkboxes and I got 6 tracks (2channels 2.1)

The issue is that I wanted to record the stereo channel on the 2.0 and the MIC on the 3rd track .1 ...
As IDDQD did i his video channel on YT.

Got a screenshot showing your advanced audio properties handy?
Can you avoid to refer to not existent things please?
A - it's not MP4; It's clearly written MKV.The MP4 was used only to see alternatives. AND MP4 , despite something I spotted on YT """expertises""" supports multichannel audio.
B - it's you that needs to scroll back up and actually read again my post and the content of my comment.
C - please be more useful helping to solve the issue, rather than copy and paste the same your message everywhere.

With there only being tracks 2 and 3, the audio through the ASIO feed should be on the first audio track and the mic should be on the second
You've checked the audio tracks individually in VLC or audacity (you may need the ffmpeg import/export modules)?
There's waveforms for the mic track in audacity when you load the file's audio track(s) there?

Here what I got (out of Première). hiwch is not what it should, following this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jRhZcC3SEyE&ab_channel=IDDQDSound

I want to have: Track1 = Left channel DAW, track 2 Right Channel DAW, Track 3 Microphone.

SOLUTION FOUND!!!
This is valid for WINDOWS systems.
I'm aware MAC is behaving in a slightly different way.

FIRST STEP:
drop ANY suggestion to export 2-3-6-N tracks. You need ONE MULTICHANNEL track only!
Such track should have 3 channels! Then select 2.1 like here below. You CAN choose MKV or also MP4.

NOTE: As I said: despite videos of pseudo-expertises that are telling MP4 is not compatible with multi-tracks: BULLSHITS. MP4 IS compatible with it.
Choose what you want! What you are confortable with.
I do prefer MKV because its features, although MP4 is not to throw away.

SECOND STEP:
To make talk REAPER or your DAW with OBS: use REAROUTE. Drop (at the moment) ReaStream, or even worse: Voicemeeter.
ReaStream at the moment has an issue with OBS: on several installations of OBS, it crackles the audio (since 2 minor versions ago of OBS), and reasons should be investigated. I did write a thread about this.
Voicemeeter: gets a lot of machine's resources.

THEN you must install the ASIO plugin for OBS. Here the link: https://github.com/Andersama/obs-asio

THIRD STEP:
Create 2 audio channels, with such plugin "ASIO input capture".
One dedicated to your DAW and one to the MIC as the 2 following screenshots.
The one for your DAW should refer to ReaRoute and Left and Right channels are going respectively to OBS Channel 1 and 2
The one for you r mic, should refer to your Audio Interface and it should go on the channel OBS Channel 3

This is a MATRIX

Where you are telling to OBS how to assign the sources to the 2.1 track (3 channels track)

(See pictures here below)

1612734698205.png

FOURTH STEP:
Open Advanced Audio Properties, and assign BOTH channels to THE SAME Track!!
Then OBS will merge the sources correctly. And you will get What I wanted to get as well.

DO NOT CHECK MONO AT ALL!! If you do it, OBS will route the signal, on ALL the 3 channels of the track.
So that: if you put MONO the MIC, its signal will be not more sent only to the channel 3 but also 1 & 2!!
So: DON'T!

FINAL STEP:
Record your video. Then you can import it successfully on Première, Da Vinci but also REAPER, and edit it!

Have e great job now!
