So, I've searched different terms to try and find a fix for this and I've not found anything. To be fair, I'm not even sure what you'd call this problem so the solution is probably right in front of me and I don't know it! I'm not even really sure how to describe it aside from extremely bad pixelation. It's like a bunch of pixelation comes up from the bottome of the game capture to gobble the video up! I've uploaded a video of it to YouTube at this link so it can be seen: https://youtu.be/RR0afxvTbkU. It happens around the 2:22 mark.

Also I've uploaded the log to https://hastebin.com/ujizusopeh

I'm using an El Gato Game Capture and what's interesting to me is that it doesn't do it in Game Capture HD. Just in OBS.

If I need to provide anything else let me know!

Edit: I should add that it does it in the preview regardless of if I'm recording, streaming, recording & streaming, or just sitting there watching the preview screen.

As an update to this: I've gone through and tried to follow a few other instructions and one of the guides here on recording that details setting the crf (?) setting to 15-20 and some other stuff. Not sure how correctly I followed it (it seemed to be for an older version of OBS maybe?), but still nothing has helped. It's still as I said before too in that it happens in the preview window regardless of if I'm recording or streaming or whatever. And even when I do stream or record the CPU is barely being hit.

I've swapped out the settings on the encoder to that a few times with the same result. I just did again just to double check, but it's still producing the same problem. :(

So I dropped it all the way down to standard definition and it finally doesn't do it. That's kind of a bummer though because I'd like for it to at least be at 720p. I guess maybe my computer can't handle that though.

Just on a whim today I saw where the El Gato HD60s carried its signal over USB 3 instead of USB 2 so I picked one up. All the problems seem to have cleared up so either my capture card has something wrong with it (I say because it's been acting funny prior to this), or the USB 3 speeds helped.

Thanks for trying to help me though Suslik V! It's much appreciated! :)

I'll leave everyone alone now. >_>
