Software Capture as a standalone application?

This might be stupid, bu is it possible for you to make the software capture component of OBS a standalone virtual camera application to be used with other programs? I personally think it's robust enough, even moreso than other existing programs out there. What purpose would this have? Well, say I want to switch from my webcam in a Google Hangout to my screen, or a specific window on my screen, I can have this app running, select my monitor or specific window and then in the Hangout, switch my device to the software capture. I think this could be useful to some people like myself, since OBS doesn't handshake with Livestream. Or i could just use Ustream instead since you said OBS works with their service.

Also, thank you for implementing a start stream hotkey option into OBS. Glad to say I can assign the same shortcut to both start and stop and it works a treat.

To Ustream, yes. I've had success there, but not to Livestream as of yet. OBS hangs when i attempt several configurations of the play path, channel and server URL.

modnite! still need to test out on livestream.. sorry, I've just been really busy. I'll try to do it before the next update.

I think you mean outputting to directshow, right? outputting to directshow is possible, yea, but it also kind of makes me want to die a little inside at the thought of having to mess with more directshow code. So I'm not sure I'll get that in any time soon, but I'll put it on the list of htings for later.

Take your time, man. Besides, I already decided I'd stream on Ustream in place of Livestream for my friend with the Twitch/Justin problems.
