^^^ that's my current test, skip to around 4:00 minutes when im in game..

Is there anything I can do to improve so that it's a bit more smoother? Or will that be my limit? In-game I don't feel any slowdowns or anything, so performance wise I'm fine, just would like to get the stream to be smoother. I have to stream SC2 in fullscreen because the native screen in windowed fullscreen makes it have black bars on the sides.

35up/35download

thanks in advance!

You have quite the amount of lagged frames in the log. Meaning the hardware cant keep up with your settings.
Gamecapture is using the gpu to do stuff so if sc2 is already using your gpu to the limit thats not good and your gpu isnt the best anyway. So you might wanna try and downscale to 720p and lower your ingame settings or try limiting sc2 framerate.

I scaled it down to 720p but it doesn't seem to have any effect really..

edit: so if this is the best I can output, then it might be better for me to end up upgrading to i7-2700k or 3770k? i have an option where I can get a 3770k for $220..

trying to squeeze as much as I can out of this

Well, your GPU is really the one holding you back here. 295 is fairly old these days, and you're likely maxing out it's power by just running SC2. For OBS to do its thing, it also needs to use the GPU pretty heavily.

You are still getting lagged frames. Do you know what your cpu usage is during the stream? If if its near maxing out then its your cpu, if not then it would be your gpu which as Krazy said is fairly old by todays standards. For SC2 your i7 975 should still be good enough especially if you can OC a bit. Getting a new graphics card either Nvidia 660ti or AMD 7950 would be a good choice if I were in your position.

It was only hitting as high as 20% as soon as I tabbed out it lowered obviously.

I think it's definitely a graphics card problem..

it's your gpu if you want to keep the in game graphics. when you lowered the resolution the cpu got more relieved. an 8 minute 1v1 game should not be a problem for it at 720p but you should also upgrade the cpu if you're looking for 1080p streaming and stuff showing on the screen since this is where your cpu will close 100%.

if anything, with the 4th generation of intel processors coming out roughly may or june, other processors should go down in $$$$, would be worth upgrading the CPU then, this i7 975 was never really friendly with xsplit ever, it likes OBS better, lol.
