Question / Help Smooth transition between scenes?

I have just installed OBS and am wondering if there is a way to do smooth transitions between multiple camera inputs.

I am running two ViewCast Osprey 440 analog capture cards from which I am accepting all inputs. OBS reads all inputs just fine, but I cannot switch scenes smoothly (there is only a hard cut). Is there functionality in the program, or possibly a plugin, that could rectify this?

Also, is there a plugin that would allow me to have multiple thumbnail previews of all my scenes open? This isn't high definition video, but I need to be able to switch freely between pictures knowing what the next input is pointing at.

There is not currently a way to add transitions to scenes, though the default transition should be somewhat smooth. Are they two sources added as Global Sources? That might help the smoothness.

There is also not a way to see previews of sources. Transitions and previews are the kind of functionality will be possible to add after the rewrite is complete.

You need to delete them from all scenes, add both as global sources, and then re-add them to your scenes as global sources.

The hard-cut is because OBS is waiting for the device to initialize and start sending data, and/or to switch off. If both are set up as global sources, they're 'always-on' so there is no delay, and you'll get a smooth fade between scenes (normal operation). There's no way to add custom transitions though, just the smooth fade. :)
