Question / Help Skype issue

Hi,

I am new to OBS. I am using it to start up a video podcast to YouTube.

I am having problems getting OBS Window Capture to show a Skype Call. I am using Skype mobile app to test with.

I am using Windows 10 latest version ( 64 bit )
I am using OBS latest release for Windows
My webcam is a Logitech HD C270 with built in mic.
I have Skype Desktop version for Windows.

OBS recognizes my Webcam flawlessly.

Skype will not allow my Skype caller to view my webcam while being used by OBS that's issue #1
I cannot get OBS to show the Skype call when I select Window Capture ( Skype option ) I have watched various Youtube tutorials!

Skype broke it. Downgrade to the previous DESKTOP version of skype. The current version is equal to a windows store version that can't be window captured.

Basically Skype will no longer support OBS because by September 1st of 2018 the new Skype version will be out.

I want to do a video podcast. Are there any alternatives to OBS?

The old skype desktop versions will be shut down on Sept 1. What is an alternative video conferencing software that other users use or a workaround to get the new version of skype to be video captured through OBS?

I have the same problem is there anyone who has a solution or is working on one. Google Hangouts doesn't work either.

Google Hangouts in chrome needs chrome's hardware acceleration turned off to be window captured. That's a separate issue.

Skype's creator's update will be adding NDI output on a per-participant basis to all video calls. Those can be added to OBS via the NDI plugin.
