Skipped frames for encoding and missed frames for rendering and high GPU usage

Hey community,

I have some issues with OBS 27.0.1 in a few games like "Horizon Zero Dawn" for example.
I'm running the game as fullscreen window and cap the fps at 120, Vsync disabled (I'm using G-sync).
OBS is skipping frames for encoding and misses frames for rendering. I checked OBS in the Task Manager and it runs with 55-60% GPU usage.
As soon as I cap the FPS in the game to 60FPS, OBS just uses 22-25% GPU. Disabling the preview in OBS doen't make any change.
The game always runs very smooth at the main monitor, no matter if I cap it at 60 nor 120 fps.

My rig:
Intel i9 10900K
NVIDIA RTX 3090
64 gig of RAM
Different NVMEs as system and recording / games drives.
4K 144hz monitor as main and three 1080p 60hz monitors for controlling / monitoring.
The main monitor runs with120hz at 2K when I use OBS for streaming.

OBS settings:
NVENC (new) with CBR 6000 Kbps / Preset Quality / Profile High / Look-ahead disabled / Psycho visual tuning disabled / Max B-frames: 2
Base canvas: 2560x1440
Output: 1920x1080 (Lanczos)
Common FPS: 60

OBS runs with admin privileges, Windows Game Mode is enabled
Windows version: 20H2

I really don't know what to do and how to fix this issue. Is it really impossible to play at 120fps with 60 streaming? :-(

Best regards

Tom
