Question / Help Site translations

Hey. I was wondering if i could translate the home-page, download-page and all the help pages from English to Finnish.

In Finland English is mandatory language in schools but the problem is that most of the Finns never use/need English. So learning English is hard and it's easily forgotten. For example i understand everything i hear or read in English and i think i can type well enough English BUT i can't pronounce at all. I know some people who have near perfect English, many wiht average English (like me) and a lot people who can't even introduce themselves in English. So option for translation for those people would be great. Domain would be like obsproject.com/fi/

And in case you'll accept translating, how do i translate it? Straight to the source code of the page? And where do i post the final result? Here inside the Code tags like:

index:
Code:

download:

FAQ:

etc. ?

E: The help pages would be the most important pages to translate.

You could probably translate the help file. But this has to be done in html source code more or less. You can find it on the GitHub. It would maybe be best to start a kind of OBS-Translation Git-Group. That way we could work on the different translations for the Help File, OBS itself etc, without disturbing the main git.

For the page, I am not sure, except for the FAQ section, rudimentary English should be enough to find the download button :)

Okay i can translate the Help file (Just to make sure, you meant the Help file in OBS installation folder?) :p Are you gonna make the "OBS-Translation Git-Group" or what? Anyway no hurry since the translation might take a while :p

There are translations for the page in Spanish, French, German, Russian, Chinese and Japanese. But okay i can translate the FAQ even if it never gets to the site. :p I can translate the whole page tho, if you say so (not gonna start before you say :p ). But yeah i start with the Help file and then the FAQ.

Lol this is pretty numbing thing to do but i'm sure it's worth it since it can be really helpful for someone. Half way done with the Help file. Ooops, already 4 hours spent for this :p

I was thinking that if people starts to translate Help files in different languages, it would be nice if when you set OBS interface language to lets say Finnish, it will automatically check and download the Finnish translated Help file from Git to the obs installation directory. And if already have the right one or no translated file found for set language, it will keep the current one. I hope you understood what i meant.

You can push your translation there. If Jim wants to add this directly into the OBS git we have a good starting point. I will try to add the German translation in the next days. If anyone has time to assist me on that, I would be glad to take any help.

I'll push it there as soon as it's ready. :p

Btw should i push it as a .chm file or as separate .htm files? I'm working on it as .chm file. And if as a .chm file how should i name it? Like "OBSHelp-Fi.chm"?
