sirection of Source scaling with filters

ok if you have an image placed in a schene, as a source, and then use a filter on it to scale it, it will grow, towards the right and downwards. is there a way to make it grow towards the left and upwards?

That depends on the plugin you're using. You can try right-clicking the source, going to Transforms, Edit Transform, and set the origin point for the source in there. It defaults to the top-left, but you can set it to quite a few positions.

I'm not using a plug in for this. This is just a filter on a source

Then just do as FerretBomb says. Transforms->Edit Transform, set your origin point to "Bottom Right" in the drop-down selection. [edit: apparently my sense of direction is all backwards... fixed]

To "grow left and upwards" - is Positional Alignment: Bottom Right of the source.
