Hi all! Just signed up with the forums. I'm still somewhat of a noob when it comes to OBS and capturing gameplay for youtube. I don't livestream at all, I just record to my SSD and then upload later. Sometimes I edit, mostly just record one take and run with it.
My biggest issue is the way Sidequest captures footage. I know how to get it to full-rate capture and widescreen / 1920x1080, thanks to the "wrench" options in Sidequest. Very simple. I keep everything default for the most part and just increase the framerate and video size.
I've found that the video doesn't always record smoothly. It seems to stutter a little throughout.. and sometimes it quite simply just doesn't look like it's 60fps. Other people's videos I've seen look really, really good, at least to me. Case in point, Critical Nobody's Resident Evil 4 video:

Granted, he's bouncing between the flat version and the VR version in his footage, but everything looks so smooth. Smoother than what I've been able to record with Sidequest. I've asked him how he does it in comments, but he never replies. He also doesn't have a ton of Quest 2 native videos.
Here's some Sidequest footage I don't really like (his entire video is 30fps I believe):

Here's some Sidequest footage I captured back in March 2022 when I was first trying to figure this out (Superhot). Check 5:07 to 6 minutes in for the main gameplay:

As you can see, there's stuttering and it does not look buttery-smooth like I've seen in so many other videos. I've tried both the link cable and wireless, in Sidequest. The footage looks the same, either way.
Specs:
Windows 10, 1TB SSD
i7 10700k 3.8ghz
32GB ram (ram is maxed out, inside the BIOS)
RTX 3070
My OBS Recording settings:
Nvidia Envenc H.264 (new)
CBR, 18000, Look ahead and PVT are unchecked (many searches on this forum and elsewhere always say to keep these off), Quality preset, High profile, Keyframes , GPU 0 (default), Max b-frames 2.
For the record, my PCVR recordings always look fine. No stuttering... no matter what game. And I record using Virtual Desktop (always wireless). Looks great, no lag or stutter. It's Sidequest that's giving me issues and I have no idea how to get the footage looking better.
I'm someone who loves 60fps footage of everything I watch on Youtube... I hate 36fps (or whatever it is) "recorded directly to the headset" square footage... it just doesn't make me want to play the game if I can't see how smooth it will look in the headset.
Thanks for any and all detailed help/suggestions!!!
