Showing an Intro/Outro when Starting/Stopping a stream

It seems to me that it would be a common practice to have an Intro run when the Stream Starts and an Outro run when stopping. I have been playing with Advanced Scene Switcher but still I can't get it to work correctly. Is there anyone who can guide me in the right way to do this or do I need something else?

That's a somewhat manual task, because OBS cannot know when you actually start or actually stop, because intros and outros take place before you start and after you end.

You prepare a scene for "starting soon", and one for your intro, and another for your outro. Include animated media if you like, and set the media to restart if becoming active. Start OBS, switch to the starting soon scene. Then start the stream a few minutes before you actually want to start, so the "starting soon" scene is visible and not nothing.

When you actually start, switch from starting soon to the intro scene. If that scene finished playing, switch to the scene you want to use for streaming. If you have just a video as intro, directly include that video as media source in your regular streaming scene, set it on top so it hides everything else, and set it to "restart playback when source becomes active" as well as "show noting when playback ends". This video will then overlay everything as soon as you switch to that scene and vanishes automatically if finished. To prevent it from showing up again during the stream, click on its eye icon in the source list to hide it for the rest of your stream.

For the outro, switch to the outro scene after you finished, and after it finished playing stop the stream.
