I dont have much money right now but is it worth it?

Bumping to a quad or hexacore i7 from an i5 will be a nice step up in performance, and definitely help out... but BF4 is coded like poop. So it's hard to say just how much it will help.

Still, it's what I'd do. If you were going from i7 to i7 it wouldn't be worth. But from i5 to i7? Definitely.

Definitely dont go for a 770 while the new stuff comes out. I would suggest, but the step up to a quadcore with hyper-threading could help with bf4+encoding. I personally have no big problems to run bf4, a quicksync local recording, and 2 x264 streams on standard settings (720p30fpsVeryFast).
BUT I have lowered the settings of BF4 so its FPS always stay above 80 and also limited them to a max of 100, both frees up CPU resources. So BF4 in the end eats 25-35% of my CPU.

So I should wait to see if 980 or the 970 are better for my money and see if i want ether or wait tell prices drop?
