Question / Help Setup OBS to record from VCR to an MP4 file

I am a new to using OBS Studeo and want to use an August Video Capture card VGB300 to transfer old VCR tapes from Video recorder to MP4 files on my computer.
I have attached Capture cable to PC via USB and to VCR recorder via Scart and appear to be recording MP4 files on my PC (Windows 10) which have no content when the video is playing. I need basic help in the setup, but have not managed to find any basic guides for this requirement.

Hey Ian. I'm having the same problem... My window/display capture source still shows a black screen. Any pointers?

I have know resolved the problem by connecting to a USB port on the back of my PC. It seems that the 2 USB ports (on the front of my PC) that I had been trying have different functionality?
My VCR video conversion TO MP4 now works fine.
The only other observation is the sequence of connecting and opening up the program, affects if it will work. Just try changing the sequence of you do have a problem.
