I'm new to OBS & streaming from a computer. I stream video games on Xbox One, through the Twitch app on the console. I recently purchased a new laptop w/ a built in capture card. The following is my system setup:

256 GB SSD
Windows 10
2.5 GHz Processor Speed
Intel 7th Generation Core i5
8 GB RAM
NVIDIA GeForce 940MX Capture Card

I will be streaming from one monitor only. Is there a step-by-step link to setup or anyone willing to give me a hand with this?

hm Your Nvidia card is a graphics card, not a capture card. Unless I'm mistaken?

To use your PC to stream your console gameplay you need something completely separate as well which is known as a capture card. There are Elgato, Avermedia, Razer, and other capture cards to choose from. They'll cost around $150 or higher if you want one. There are external ones and internal ones. You'll want to do a bit of searching on which one would fit you best. Most people recommend an internal capture card.

You wouldn't happen to know how to bypass a capture card, would you? I seen a youtube video (there are several other videos, as well) that show you a way of doing. But the video is a year old & I believe there is an update version of OBS since, so you can't really go off of it. The guy said with the XBOX app on Windows 8 or newer, you don't need it. I understaND there might be a small amount of lag & that's fine.

Thanks for the help, btw.

The only way I can think of to "bypass" it is by using Remote Play to play your Xbox games through your PC. I'm not aware of a PlayStation to PC remote play.
