Question / Help Settings for OBS Studio 0.16.2

I was happily using OBS Studio to record videos I watch, especially for my online course. Then I started having computer and internet problems. To solve a widespread problem I did a clean install of Windows 10.

Re installed OBSS and eventually got it all working again. Then a few days ago Windows 10 updated itself with no usual warning. I started getting a encoding overload message to turn down video settings or use faster encoding preset. I googled what to do but I couldn't make sense of what was need doing. Screenshots didn't match mine etc

I do not need streaming for games. I just record the video (like youtube) while I watch it. All I need to do is get some settings that I can use as a baseline to tweak later if need be.

While I was fiddling around tonight I uninstalled OBS Studio and then installed the new update 0.16.2. Still keep getting the message about encoding overload.

Could someone please assist Nanna (me). I am getting a bit old to learn and remember new things.

I haven't included a log file as I have a new install of OBS and just want an idea on what setting to use. As I forgot to record what I originally had that worked.

Thank you

general suggestions:
Settings>Video, 30 fps, resolution 1280x720 (both)
Settings>Output. (simple mode), Recording Qality: Indistinguishable Quality, Encoder: Software (x264 low CPU usage preset).

And set the game itself also to 1280x720 resolution.

I wanted to make a video with face cam, but then I didn't want it for the next clip, so i put in in the top corner really small so no one can see, and now I can't get it back.
