Settings for best graphics card and multicore cpu utilization?

I've tried searching and I come up with a few different things from over the years. It's 2021. Is there anything I need to know specifically about any settings that would leverage a higher-end 8GB GPU and and an 8-core CPU? Especially if I'm trying to use multiple inputs, do layering, Etc. Does OBS auto-detect and the OS dynamically allocate, so to speak, or do I need to set anything for maximum performance?

To my knowledge there are no specific settings for multi-core processors in OBS. It does its cooking !
The only settings you could adjust concern the NVIDIA encoder: https://www.nvidia.com/en-us/geforce/guides/broadcasting-guide/
or The Intel Quicksync Encoder: https://obsproject.com/forum/resources/custom-parameters-of-quicksync.104/
Also remember to increase the Process Priority in the OBS Settings / Advanced / General / Process Priority -> Above Normal or High

To give you an idea, I use OBS mostly on a laptop running Windows 10 (Razer Blade Pro 17) -> i7 (Gen 9) 32 GB RAM and an RTX 2070 or GTX 1080 (in a eGPU Thundebolt case)
My sources are mostly in HDMI / SDI (via Thunderbolt card), NDI, I record, I stream, I have plugins, etc. I've never had any worries and the CPU load rarely exceeds 40 %
