I got one of these for christmas and went through setting up 2PCs for streaming today with OBS on the streaming PC. I knew audio was going to be a pain after doing some research and I have a work around I just wanted to see if anyone here has had a similar experience with this thing as I had.
Right now I have audio coming in through the HDMI cable, works fine, nice clean crisp sound form my gaming rig. BUT, the only way for me to get the sound to come through is to have the RECentral program open. I even have to go to capture and set the audio input for HDMI and then and only then will I get audio from my gaming rig. Is that how this card works? It really baffles me/kind of makes me angry that I can't see the AverMedia card as a playback device in audio devices, and if I could I feel like I would have so much more control. Has anyone had a similar experience? I hope I'm not missing something super easy.
When I used the line in cables from one computer to another I got massive humming in the stream. I have an old(non-usb) mixer around and I might have to go that route but I rather not.
