Hi folks,

This week, i changed my computer settings and ISP so i can do better streaming than before. That's nice. however, i feel like that even with this new stuff my stream is not that perfect. I already tried to change some stuff in OBS by myself but i get lost. I'd liek a clear, smooth 720P/30fps stream for LoL/FFXIV streaming. At the moment, on FFXIv when i mvoe the camera there is some kind of blur on the screen and it is really, really not pleasing to see.
here is a log file if it helps anyone : https://gist.github.com/c1dd5770c464347b5815
My pc is a 4990K cpu with 8GO and a R9 280X and my upload is around 5MO/S

My obs settings are x264/CBR/1200Kbits and in advanced settings : veryfast/main/use CFR

if anyone can help me set this up it'd be a second christmas for me :)

PS sorry for bad angrish, not my main language ^^'

Hi !
  • 1200kbit/s is a too low bitrate for 720p: Twitch recommends you a bitrate between 1800 & 2500 for 720p
  • "Raptr" software can get in the way of OBS: disable/uninstall it if it's no use for you
  • Try JTVPing to find the best Twitch server for you.
That would improve a bit your stream. Try it & tell us the effect !

Thanks for the answer.

  • Is getting a bitrate of 2K not going to make some problems wit hpeople with low internet ? i am affraid that some of the people following me cant watch it if i put to 2000 KBS
  • Don't really use Raptr, just has been installed with my R9 drivers so i can uninstall this.
  • Gonna take a look at JTVping.

Don't forget to tell us the results !

That's a risk indeed, but if you want to stay at 1200Kbit/s, forget 720p & fall back to 480p...it's up to you to see.

My advice: test 720p, see if your viewers complain about some lagging/stuttering (believe me, if this happens, they WILL) & act accordingly !

I'm actually testing it with 1800 KBS. Looks better.
Here is my link if you can watch it a bit and tell me what do you think of the quality :3

@Radzaquiel for future reference, the below utility i believe is made by the same person but does one further which actually tests upload, quality and ping to twitch ingests.

@tristany0ung you could go up to 3000 which should be fine for pretty much anyone.
