How to turn off Xbox DVR through the Registry Editor
If you do not have an Xbox account and are not signed into the Xbox App you can disable Xbox DVR by using the Registry Editor.

Note: This process is more advanced and is not recommended for novice users.

  1. Open Registry Editor (Run > regedit)
  2. Navigate to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\System\GameConfigStore
  3. Set the value of DWORD "GameDVR_Enabled" to 0
  4. Go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Windows\
  5. Create key "GameDVR".
  6. Create DWORD 32bit called "AllowGameDVR" and set to 0
  7. Restart your computer.

Thx Awolive! Done! I have been disabling some browser sources as well as deleting some old scenes. This has helped enough where I am not worried about my CPU usage being pegged at 99%. Thanks!

I believe i had the same problem and tried every possible setting that i could think of and find on the internet but nothing worked. Finally i removed every scene and source from OBS and suddenly the problem was fixed.

GUYS I legit have been SCOURING GOOGLE trying to find an answer for this and stumbled upon this forum....THANK YOU! I've got a 1050ti and I was having serious issues with NVENC! I disabled Game DVR just now and my cpu usage has gone from 80-90% to steady 55% at 720p60. Sorry to revive a dead post but THANK YOU BK. I was so worried about getting a new PC.
