Question / Help Serious audio delay

Team,

My log is attached. I am having serious audio delays between my webcam (Logitech C920) and my microphone (Blue Yeti). I would be so much in love with this product if this delay was gone. Last night, I was able to get it pretty close by buffering my webcam 2400 milliseconds. That is such a huge delay and it is pretty annoying to deal with. tonight when I was testing again with the exact same settings, it was off.

I know that computers are never running the same from one moment to the next, and from what I have read here, people just say "that's just the way it is".

Is there anything that I am overlooking? The Logitech webcam software can sync my blue yeti all day with no problems. How can I get OBS to do the same thing?

Any help would be highly appreciated. Thank you so much for your time!

Try running your webcam at 720p. The c920 is notorious for flooding the USB bus without putting it on its own dedicated host controller.

If that works, open Device Manager from the control panel, and use the 'view devices by connection' dropdown at the top. Drill down to your USB controllers, and find out where your cam is plugged in. Then move things around so nothing else is on the same Host Controller that it is (ESPECIALLY not the Yeti!). Should help to alleviate the problem if bus-flooding is the cause. You can then try bumping it back up to 1080p. Do NOT put it on a USB 3.0 port though; the c920 is known to glitch badly on many USB3 chipsets.

But yeah, the c920 is a great cam. But it does require some massaging on the setup side to get it working smoothly.
