Question / Help [Semi-fixed] Low FPS for viewers after Windows 10 upgrade

Yesterday I decided it was probably a good idea to upgrade my PC to Windows 10 since they said it was only free for a limited time. After the upgrade was completed I went into a game (Rust) to see if everything was fine, but it wasn't. I noticed that my FPS were barely scraping by at 18fps on the lowest possible settings. Then after some research I figured that it must have been my drivers not being updated, so I went into my Geforce Experience desktop app, downloaded and installed the necessary updates. Turns out it was the server I was testing on that made my fps so terrible.

Here's where the main problem occurred. As I was streaming (using game/window capture) I noticed that the game fps for me was just fine, but my viewers were seeing the game in about 10-14 fps (making it extremely unwatchable). I even switched games a few times to make sure it wasn't that particular game's fault, which leads me to believe that this is possibly a problem with OBS and windows 10. The only game-type that worked were very low end games like flash games.

I also encountered a separate issue with the monitor capture; it just flat out didn't work. When I attempted to switch to capturing my monitor, I only got a black screen.

Thanks!

I had this issue too, and I couldn't find an answer. However, I installed the newest version of OBS Multiplatform, and it worked like a charm. No more low frame rate stream even though my game was running at a smooth 60. It'll take some time to learn as the layout is different, but definitely worth it given most of their development is now being used for the multiplatform version now.

[IGNORE THIS REPLY] Switching to OBS multiplatform has worked so far, but it comes at a cost. I have been unable to get most of the features I use on the regular windows version to work such as scrolling text. I have decided to downgrade my computer to windows 7 where I know things work. Thanks for the advice. I'll keep this post updated.

Thank you for pointing that out. I was indeed able to find all of the features. Since OBS MP works with windows 10 (and because I downloaded it after the upgrade), I wonder if it is as simple as to uninstall and reinstall the regular windows version. Either way, I am going to keep windows 10, use OBS MP, and wait for a future patch to come out because a future upgrade to windows 10 will not be free for me as it was before.
