Question / Help Seeing multiple windows/resolutions in preview screen (source > Window) after turning off all 20 W7 "nice graphics settings"

Ok, I have an old PC and am trying to setup to cater for it. All was going well until I found out how to get rid of all 20 of W7's "fancy displays settings"

Suddenly I'm getting multiple windows/resolutions in preview screen having selected "Window" as my source. It's like triple vision in differing resolutions.

HELP! :)

Disabling Aero in Win7 forces OBS to use a lower-performance capture method workaround, that cannot avoid capturing overlaid or occluding windows. It is STRONGLY advised to turn Aero back ON, and use an Aero theme in Windows so it is enabled.
Turning Aero off for better performance is information being carried forward from the early days of Vista (when it was accurate), and is actually harmful to performance at this point (they fixed the poor performance, and it actually works better than having Aero turned off... since before Win7 rolled out; but the now-misinformation keeps getting passed around).

Ok, quick update, I've noticed that what's happening is a recursive thing (if that's the right word) I'm trying to display a web page in Chrome as a Window source, BUT, as soon as I select the OBS app it starts displaying itself, on and on, smaller and smaller.

Many thanks FerretBomb, that explains it. Will go back and "check the box"
