'Search Directory' button in Missing Files dialogue box not able to link missing files

One feature of the latest 27.2.3 version is the Missing Files dialogue box. In the box is a button to "Search Directory..." but this is not letting me relink to a file that has been moved. When I move through the file structure to the missing file's new location, the file is grayed out and not selectable. You need to go into the image or video source dialogue and relink from there. I found this issue in both Windows and MacOS versions of the update

The "search directory" dialog is asking for a directory to search for all missing files. If you wish to replace a single file, use the browse option for that particular source.

I too am having difficulty with the Missing Files Dialogue box.
OBS 28.1.1 on a Mac Mini M1
  • I pull up the Missing Files Dialogue box
  • click on the 'New File' field in the window
  • click the ... Browse icon
  • navigate to and click to select my missing file
  • looks good... BUT
  • click on Open
  • box comes up "OBS detected more matches for disappeared files in that folder. Do you fancy adding them?"
  • I have the choices: Yes or No
  • it doesn't matter which I choose, either simply closes the window, takes me back to the 'home' interface and, when I check for missing files, I am back where I started
I could reconnect the files, one source at a time but the Missing Files functionality would be way easier... if it was working for me?
Am I doing something wrong here?

I just switched back to Mac after suffering on the dark side for a few years (I wasn't getting the trash can) and I have this same thing going on. Copied my files over, imported a Scene Collection and nothing I do in the missing files dialogue will make it work. My initial thought's are it could be permissions but I'm not sure. I have moved the folder to a couple different locations to try and still nothing. I'm a fairly advanced OBS user as well and while I'm new to this Mac OS I've been using X since day one on a Titanium laptop. I will be working on this today as I do not feel like manually links 400+ sources! hahahaha
