SD card connecting to OBS not the camera

im very new to this whole idea of alternatives cameras for the webcam. im trying to set one up. i have a nikon cool pix and the video capture or obs system only is reading the sd card not the camera so i can see what it sees. how do i fix this if possible.
 
Check Nikon support if they actually support connecting this camera like a webcam and if you need specific driver/program for it.
