Question / Help Scrolling text is cut off

Hey there!

On OBS Classic, this wasn't a problem, but I've noticed on OBS Studio if you try to read text from a file (For instance, whatever song is currently playing) and the song name is too long, instead of simply hiding the text, it just cuts it off.

What I'm trying to do is have my text scroll on-screen, but as you can see in the attached file, instead of showing the full title, it simply cuts it off (near the end, after the "4" and the "we".

Is there any way to fix this? Thanks!

Yes i have the same problem, are anyone workin on a fix here?
This is really annoying bug if you want to have the scrolling text with in a fixed size.

But it seems it's working fin if you let OBS decide the window size itself, but ofcourse you don't want that since it might be music for example that needs to be fixed on a certain area of the screen.

Its annoying, you have to basically exaggerate width text source properties(use custom text extents) and then in filter *scroll* limit width is the size of what is actually seen on the stream. Issue is when shorter songs/text appear those will have a big empty space until it scrolls back to its beginning.

This needs to be fixed

Turn off custom text extents in the properties for the text source, turn on limit width in the scroll filter. You will get very short text repeated multiple times if you have the width limit set wide, but you will not get huge gaps in text or text being cut off.

But you will get text almost together ending letter and starting letter... It requires more space which we can't control unless you do what I mentioned which of course mines is worse lol Its certainly in need of fixing for studio

I personally am confused by the Snip Format window and what everything means. I wish there was a detailed tutorial on how to add spaces at the end and beginning of a song title. It's all bunched up and looks terrible and no matter what I do it stays that way. About to give up here.

I solved this issue by simply resizing the text.
go to its properties > select font
change its size from 256 (I believe 256 is the default size when creating a new text thats why you need to change it) to any lower number that you want. I personally picked 72, but again pick as low as you can if you have many words input. You can later resize the text from "preview" window to any size you want.
(im guessing you are also using scroll text)
I hope I helped you all. Leave a thumbs up if did.
