Question / Help Screen Resolution issue

Hey all! First off I want to say I do love this OBS. I wanted to stream before on Twitch but didn't know which program to use, and then a buddy recommended OBS!

Ok on to my actual problem. The game that's being streamed is Dark Souls. My normal screen resolution is at 1680x1050. When playing Dark Souls, the game switches to, I beleive 1280x800. Now my OBS is set for 1680x1050, but when streaming it comes up as a much smaller box. Do I have to switch my monitor resolution to 1280x800 before opening Dark Souls so that it matches, as well as change the OBS to 1280x800? Or is there something else I'm missing??

Any and all input is appreciated. All other aspects of the OBS system are working great for me otherwise, I just wanted to make sure that my viewers have a nice big view of what's going on like I do, and not that dingy little thing that they're currently looking at whenever I'm playing!

There are two ways to fit a game of a certain resolution to the OBS scene, such as checking the "Stretch to screen" option in the Game Capture properties, setting the base resolution in OBS (Video section of the settings) to the same as the game.

However, for Dark Souls in particular, I would recommend downloading and using an application called "DSfix", which allows the game to run at other resolutions, among other things. DSfix is available from this web page: http://blog.metaclassofnil.com

Thank you! I'll be looking into DSfix, as i've been hearing a lot of good things about it on Twitch when it comes to Dark Souls.
