Screen Recording?

I have been looking for a way to record short snippets of streaming video and audio (yes, from Netflix, HBO, etc.) to include in a Keynote presentation.

I am reasonably certain that my intent fall within the 'fair use' provisions of copyright.

I tried screen recording with QuickTime but that doesn't work, © protected content only renders a black screen and silence.

I have been advised that OBS Studio can serve this function. Can somebody please confirm for me that is true before I download the software?
